We are delighted to finally share photos of the completed Eilean Liath house on Tiree. Completed during the summer, this has been a really exciting project for Roots and we are very pleased with how the finished building has turned out.
The house replaces a log cabin that had originally been imported to the island from Norway in the 1960s. The challenge of this project was to design a contemporary incarnation of this original house that would provide a modern, comfortable second residence and a place for our client's family on the island for future generations.
Graeme MacColl and his team at CKR Island Construction did a fantastic job of reclaiming the original logs from the cabin and processing them into cladding boards which now face the outside of the building.
